We're moving downtown!

After more than 20 years, we've grown too big for our intimate Garland home. We're excited to be expanding into a much larger space at the iconic Benewah Milk Bottle

...and we need your help

Moving from a 2500 sqft space to a 7000 sqft will require a lot of new stuff...   new chairs and tables for both stages, chairs for 4 classrooms, sound and lighting equipment for an additional stage, building out the front desk, two stages, two tech booths, and generally remodeling the space.

Our mission is to provide the best improv experiences possible, and in order to do that we are engaging in our largest fundraising campaign ever, with a goal of $200,000.

Be a part of Spokane history with this unique expansion of a local, home-grown theatre and school!

2023 Growth

With increasing demand, we launched the Spokane School of Improv in January 2023, offering a more diverse collection of adult classes, adding more teen and kid camps, and starting to work with schools.

273%

Adults Served

This year saw 6 new classes including 'Improv for Lawyers' and 'Pun Workout'.

5

Summer Camps

Due to increasing demand, we offered 3 teen and 2 kids summer camps.

75

4-5th Graders

Working with teachers to meet state standards, we offered 'Improv and Poetry' class once-a-week for 4 weeks.

The Future

With your help, we'll continue our momentum and provide exceptional shows and affordable classes for decades to come.  Here are some of the exciting things the new space will allow us to do.

Two Stages

We will have a main stage and a black box stage. With two stages, we can support other small theatre companies in our region to have a consistent stage to perform on. This support will give you more theatre options and access to independent, original, and experimental shows written and performed by our local talent and community members. We will also be able to add Thursday night and matinee shows.

Expanded Concessions

With a built-in kitchen. Our concessions will expand to include more than just candy and soda. A new menu will be announced.

We will also partner with local restaurants to provide a once-a-month dinner theatre. These dinner theatres provide the opportunity to support local businesses and the Spokane arts.

Art Gallery

As an organization, we are committed to supporting all the different types of arts. In the new space, we can have an art gallery to highlight local artists. We want to create a space where people can experience a variety of arts.

Four Classrooms

The new space will provide enough room for the Spokane School of Improv to accommodate additional camps and classes. In the past, we had to close registration to the classes and camps because we only had one room in which to teach. With four teaching spaces, we can expand the number of kids, teens, and adults we serve.  We can add classes that bring families together to experience improv.

Corporate Education Center

We will open the Blue Door Corporate Education Center to provide transformational experiences for all kinds of organizations. We can now hold classes at our own location as well as going into businesses.
